Easter 2011

Easter festivities started on Wednesday with an Easter egg hunt at Mattie's preschool.

Target had the cutest eggs ever!

The girls' Easter baskets. We do this the day before to cut down on the busyness of Easter Day. That way, they can actually enjoy the baskets instead of having to put them aside until after church, lunch, and egg hunting!

Easter egg hunt!

This is a far cry from the Easter egg hunts of my childhood. We boiled and dyed real eggs and actually hid them! HA!

Easter Day!

I love this little table at our cousins' house!

An after-lunch Easter egg hunt with hidden eggs....yay!!!

One more photo session before calling it a day!

The end to a wonderful Easter day!

An Outdoor Kitchen - Preschool Style

Outdoor kitchens are all the rage, especially with the under five crowd!

All you need is a bucket of water, some old plastic bowls, and plenty of sticks and leaves.

Don't forget your rain boots in case you dump water all over yourself!

It's the best way to spend a beautiful morning!

Busy. Busy. Busy.

Friday Flashback

April 8, 2007: Here is Mattie with her cousin, Nathan, on Easter Sunday.

Nathan is 4 1/2 months older than Mattie.

She was okay with him showing her some love.

But then,

the feeling was NOT mutual!

Oh, he was SO upset, therefore, upsetting Mattie!

Sweet, sweet babies! They will be starting Kindergarten this fall.

*sigh*

2 Peter 3:18 (NIV) But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Southern Belles, Y'all!

I think every girl who is lucky enough to grow up in south Alabama has a dream of becoming an Azalea Trail Maid. I'd spread out the Mobile Press Register on the floor and gaze at the beautiful ruffled dresses and hats. Every time I saw them on the news or a commercial I'd stop in my tracks to watch. And dream.

Mattie met several of the Maids during the Fairhope Arts and Crafts festival. Talk about living vicariously through my child! She really enjoyed it, I promise! Just look at her in that sea of ruffles!

Bonnie took this picture!
The yellow "princess" was her favorite because yellow is her favorite color. Here she is telling Miss Emily how old she is, her name, where she lives, and where she goes to preschool!

Then, Miss Emily showed Mattie her under pants that have ruffles on them. "They're just like yours", she drawled!

Bonnie took this picture of their monogrammed 'gloves'! It doesn't get much more Southern than that!

Ah, to be four (and thirty-something) and believe in princesses!

Psalm 37:4 (NIV) Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
